We are down to the last two varieties for pick your own apples this year. Pink Lady and Gold Rush, both great keeping apples, open up for U-pick on Friday. There are still some EverCrisp, Florina, and Melrose, the state apple of Ohio, left to pick as well. If you don’t want to pick you’re in luck as there are more than 10 varieties available to buy in the market.
We are still open seven days a week until the week of Thanksgiving. We have fall decor, new apple scented candles, winter squash, and, of course, lots of apples. Some of the apples, like the EverCrisp and Gold Rush, will keep for four to five months! It’s a great time to stock up since we all know store bought apples just don’t compare :). Our new Branstool Orchards Apple Butter hits the shelves this Friday as well.
Our first annual Apple Pie Baking Contest is on November 2nd. Enter to win cash, a blue ribbon and bragging rights! Click here for details. Speaking of baking with apples, we are running a great special on pie baker and sauce maker apples. Get a pre-boxed peck (10 pounds on average) of Golden Delicious and Jonathan for only $10!
You can also visit the market to shop for gifts. Get a peck or half peck box with a gift ribbon and fill it up with anything in the market and receive 10% off everything in the box, including apples! We now carry a wonderful line of apple scented candles from Rock Camp Candle Company in Johnstown, Ohio. Scents include Apple Orchard, Caramel Apple, Spiced Cider, and Baked Apple Pie. They smell great and make a great gift.
This Saturday morning you can stop in the market and watch our field crew press our apple cider. It’s an interesting process and the finished product is absolutely delicious! Stock up for the cold winter and your holiday meals.
Need a place to take fall photos? Come sit on our giant pumpkins or take a walk into the orchard.
This is the last weekend for caramel apples at the market. Our Rubinette apples dipped in caramel by Goumas Confections in Newark is always a special treat. We have them with and without nuts for $3 each. If you prefer to make your own we sell caramel apple kits in the market.
This weekend is the last outdoor farmers markets at Worthington and Granville. We will be there, as well as Clintonville, with a selection of bag your apples and our new apple butter.
On Saturdays and Sundays we are pleased to host Bailey’s Drive Inn Donuts from 10-5PM with warm apple cider donuts made with our cider and pumpkin donuts, too.
